Sustainability

At Beachside Bikinis, we recognize the importance of sustainability. The environment keeps us healthy, so we must make efforts to do the same in return. 

Fabrics - In order to minimize our eco-footprint, we partner with sustainable fabric manufacturers such as Carvico (Italy) and Reclaim Prime (USA). Our partners in fashion use ECONYL® and REPREVE® yarns, made from recovered fishing nets, ocean waste, and post-consumer nylon waste. These recycled fabrics are certified by GRS and U-Trust®. By using recycled and sustainable fabrics, we save energy and water, avoid carbon and other toxic emissions, and reclaim ocean waste. All dyes and prints are done using OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified dyes, which meet the highest safety and environmental standards.

Packaging - We are proud to use 100% biodegradable and recyclable packaging. Studies show that online purchases lead to about 4.8x as much packaging than in-store shopping. This waste goes towards the pollution of oceans and landfills, affecting marine life and ecosystems around the world. E-commerce packaging accounts for millions of tons of waste every year. Our product and shipping bags are biodegradable, reducing landfill waste, plastic pollution, and toxic/greenhouse gas emissions. Our recyclable tags are tied together with cotton strings, allowing for reuse of the paper as well as the natural breakdown of the strings. Each product is quality control checked, helping to ensure items are made correctly and reducing waste from defective products/returns.

Quality

Not only do we value sustainability, but also quality and product expectations. The certified fabrics used in our bikinis provide UV 50+ protection and are saltwater and chlorine resistant. Every single product undergoes multiple quality control checks, ensuring that the products sent out to our customers meet/exceed expectations. We encourage customers to follow care instructions (on tags/product pages) in order to maintain the quality of our products.

At Beachside Bikinis, we value the importance of ethics and high working standards.

Our manufacturing partners in Bali, Indonesia are a family run company, providing all employees with:

  • well above standard wage
  • comfortable, air conditioned working spaces
  • full health insurance - including families
    • covers all doctors visits, prescription medication, and hospitalizations
  • vacation of up to 25 days 
  • paid and optional overtime
  • 13th month yearly salary (1 extra month of pay per year)
